In the words of Mark and Brooke Stephens of Adventure Parents "Becoming a parent can and will happen to anyone. One day you're hang-dogging a 5.10b or admiring those tan lines left by your Chacos and the next you're hearing, "We're pregnant." And you think, "My life is over. Goodbye kayaks, so long Chamonix summer adventure, hello minivan."
We are here to tell you that those kayaks don't have to be forgotten or that those tickets to Chamonix need to be sold, and you definitely don't need a minivan! Unless you really want one. It is possible to continue having your backcountry adventures with your children right at your side and to make the experience pleasurable. In fact, there is nothing more satisfying than packing your 6 month old child twenty miles into the backcountry for a five day stay. Some will think you are crazy for even thinking about it, most will just be jealous that you did it. Recreating with your children requires some adaptation, patience, and work. But the results are very rewarding!
Our goal as Backcountry Parenting is to inspire you to take your little ones camping, hiking, canoeing, and on many other various forms of outdoor recreation. We will share stories from our own adventures as well as from other families who lead active lifestyles. Our active parents will submit unbiased reviews on gear that will assist with easing the burdens of "roughing it."

Sweet. Can't wait to read what you got coming for us.
Minivans sure are nice when you are living out of one with two toddlers.
